One Agile principle I have learnt about is ‘Priming the Pump’ principle- you look at a projects feature list, specifically you want to look at features that will happen in future iterations. This ‘looking ahead’ will allow one to start to lay the groundwork for these features. So when that iteration does occur, the development team can hit the ground running.
I see this principle as beneficial to IT architects. As IT architects we are looking in the future to make better architecture decisions for our current project. This principle will allow an IT architect to see which features are coming in the next iterations and start to make architecture decisions or revise architecture decisions already made.
